- Bartram's Garden - In the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, area on a 45-acre site, the oldest botanic garden in the United States was founded in 1728.
- Colonial Williamsburg Gardens - In addition to its gardens, Colonial Williamsburg hosts an annual Garden Symposium each May.
- Thomas Jefferson's Monticello - The Monticello Explorer provides a tour of the gardens, and the site includes the Thomas Jefferson Center for Historic Plants, its Twinleaf Journal Online, its biennial Historic Landscape Institute, video clips of Institute lectures in its Speakers Forum, and podcasts.
