Join our OSU Extension Master Gardener Volunteers for a hands-on
workshop exploring winter sowing, a simple, low-cost method of
starting seeds outdoors using recycled milk jugs. Participants will
learn how to prepare containers, select appropriate cold-season
seeds, and use soil and moisture to let nature do the work.
We will also cover season extension techniques, including the use
of cold frames and row covers, to help gardeners start earlier in the
spring and protect crops.
All materials will be provided, and participants will leave with their
own planted winter sowing containers and practical knowledge
they can use at home.
