The primary role of the Agricultural Administration Specialist 2, Community Gardening in Cuyahoga County is to provide participants and stakeholders with research-backed information that will better their lives. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Developing, planning, and assisting in delivering educational programming (formal and informal).

 

  • Utilize knowledge of agriculture and project management skills to direct, coordinate, implement all components of the City of Cleveland's Summer Sprout community gardening program.

 

  • Serve as the connector between the City of Cleveland, OSU, and community gardeners, communicating directly with City of Cleveland Department of Community Development administrators, City of Cleveland Land Bank administrators, OSU fiscal managers, local agriculture businesses, volunteers, and gardeners on a regular basis.

 

  • Working with local and state-level Extension professionals to make resources and research available to members of the community.

 

  • Leading programs consistent with the AA/EEO policy of OSU Extension, the outreach arm of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.
