    Come join us for an informative workshop focused on low, mid, and high tunnel production, featuring information to benefit the small and urban growers, beginning farmers, and community gardeners. This workshop will be held rain or shine, with lunch provided. Discussion will emphasize topics such as pros and cons of various types of tunnels, season extension, climate control, crop and variety selection, nutrient and irrigation management, and where to go for additional information.

  2. Earth Week Victory Garden Seeds + Soil Sample Collection

    OSU Extension Cuyahoga County will be distributing Ohio Victory Garden Program seeds and collecting $30 soil test samples. Please be sure to fill out the soil sample submission form available in the Cuyahoga County Extension Office when you drop off your sample and submit payment. Payment will be accepted in the form of cash, check or card (via the Nelnet link: https://go.osu.edu/cuyahogaextensionpayment).

  5. Apply for Dig In! Training Today!

    Dig In! helps community members gain the knowledge and skills necessary to plan, design, and build a thriving and sustainable community garden. This training is a requirement to have a garden in the Summer Sprout program. Please fill out one application per person. This training is scheduled to take place on Tuesday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm starting on April 9th and ending on June 4th (9 weeks total). Class will take a hybrid format.

  8. Free Farmer Discrimination Financial Assistance Workshop-Cleveland

    Are you a farmer or rancher who has experienced discrimination from USDA farm programs or loans? If so, plan to attend one of these upcoming Discrimination Financial Assistance Programs (DFAP). The meetings are for farmers or ranchers who experienced discrimination by the USDA Farm Loan Program prior to January 2021 to receive technical assistance on filing their complaint.

  9. Market Gardener Training- Applications are Open!

    The Market Gardener Training Program (MGTP) is a training program offered by Ohio State University Extension’s Urban Agriculture Program in Cuyahoga County.  This nine-week program will provide a foundation for urban agriculture and small business development to prepare participants to start their own enterprises growing produce and other agricultural products for the market. Classes will meet in hybrid form- a combination of virtual and in person, Tuesday evenings, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, January 16, 2024- March 19, 2024
