    Join OSU Extension Cuyahoga County for an evening to learn about how to get started with chickens in your backyard. OSU Extension Educators Tim McDermott DVM from OSU Poultry Team and Maggie Fitzpatrick will discuss breed selections, safe egg handling, chicken health, zoning requirements, housing, nutrition and other topics that will help you successfully raise chickens in the city and suburbs. This course fulfills the educational requirement for Lakewood Hen Keeping Ordinance.

    Food safety training for managers, operators and owners. Upon successful completion of the course and exam, participants receive a Certificate of Completion from ServSafe and an Ohio Food Protection Card from ODH. Must attend all 3 class dates to take exam at the end of the third day. Registration Fee: $135. Lunch on your own.

    Interested in learning more about food preservation? Freezing and drying foods is a simple, low cost way to extend the life of produce you harvested or purchased. Registration required.
