Hello!  My name is Renee Hubeny.  I am a 4-H Program Assistant that will be leading students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) lessons as well as coding.

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education in 2012.  Additionally, I hold endorsements to teach grades 4 and 5 and reading in grades K-12.  I am excited to bring my knowledge and experience as an educator to after school programs within the Cleveland Metropolitan School District!

Ohio is the birthplace of 4-H!  You may be wondering, what is 4-H?  Our organization focuses on Head, Heart, Hands, and Health.  The embodiments of character and leadership.

I was blessed to grow up serving in a Lorain County 4-H Club.  Members of our club worked to serve our local community in many ways.  Members from my club assisted the Grafton Township Fire Department in painting addresses on rural mailboxes that did not have an address visible.  We rode our bikes to most homes and met our parents who dropped off the paint.  It was a LOT of fun and hard work.  Of course, when you’re having fun work doesn’t seem like work.  Learning to collaborate with others in the younger years is important.  Collaboration helps to build positive relationships in personal lives and at work.

I studied many topics throughout my years in 4-H.  I grew up on a farm and I focused on raising dairy goats.  I learned so much and had a fantastic time!  I would love to own goats again one day.  Along with agriculture, I studied topics including photography, first aid, arts and crafts, and cats.  Yes, I took my cat to the fair!  I was (and will always be) passionate about 4-H.

4-H has progressed through the years.  Agriculture studies has branched out to other areas of interests including computer science and engineering.  I am thrilled to introduce students to these topics in after school programs.
