Market Gardening and Urban Farming

The market gardens and urban farms of Cuyahoga County provide different agricultural products in our region and are a source of economic development.  Where a community garden is designed to grow food for community use, market gardens aim to create products such as fruits, vegetables, honey, eggs, livestock, herbs, and cottage foods for sale.  Those sales may happen at a farmers’ market, local restaurant, CSA, or other outlets. Regardless of the scale of production, market gardeners represent a growing trend in local food.

OSUE provides education, networking opportunities and support to new and beginning farmers in our county. By doing so we help them develop sustainable businesses that will continue to supply fresh food for a long time to come.
